Free Helmets for Skaters

Chris Cotten, Harrisonville Parks and Recreation Director, has announced that the Ian Tilmann Foundation of Safety Harbor, Florida will provide free helmets to skaters who need them in order to enjoy the new skateboard facilities at City Park.

Belton to Vote on Park Board Status

On Nov. 3 Belton residents will decide if the Park Board will answer to the City Council or remain an independent entity.

If voters approve Bill 2009-59, the Park Board will become an administrative board answering directly to the City Council, needing approval before making decisions.

MoDOT to close bridge over Grand River

Tomorrow (July 21) MoDOT will close the Route 2 bridge one mile east of Freeman for repairs. The bridge should reopen by late August.

Library unveils new website

The Cass County Public Library has recently started using a new website. The updated site, at http://casscolibrary.org/ was made possible with funding from the Office of the Missouri Secretary of State and the Missouri State Library.

Harrisonville to spend $100k on skateboard park

Rock Island Trail - Katy Connector

Work has begun on the Rock Island Trail – Katy Connector, which will link the KC area to the nationally acclaimed Katy Trail State Park. Governor Nixon made the announcement last month from what will be the future trailhead in Pleasant Hill, next to the Cass County Fair Grounds. “With work beginning on the Rock Island Trail – Katy Connector, we are one stop closer to providing Missourians with an opportunity to experience the beauty of our state from one side to the other through an unbroken trail system,” Gov. Nixon said.
