KCP&L Raising Rates Today
J.T. | September 1, 2009
If you are a customer of KCP&L, then you will probably notice a 16%-19% increase in your electric bill starting today (9/1).
On June 10, the Missouri Public Service Commission approved a rate increase that will increase revenue by around 95 million dollars. Customers apparently should be thankful that it’s not the 101.5 million dollar increase that KCP&L originally hoped for. For a typical residential customer, the PSC staff estimates the increase will be approximately $154 a year or approximately $12.82 a month (16.1%).
