Harrisonville Receives Upgraded Bond Rating

The City of Harrisonville has received good news from Standard & Poor, the bond-rating agency, which recently raised the city’s bond rating two steps, taking it from A-minus (A-) to AA-minus (AA-).

Free Helmets for Skaters

Chris Cotten, Harrisonville Parks and Recreation Director, has announced that the Ian Tilmann Foundation of Safety Harbor, Florida will provide free helmets to skaters who need them in order to enjoy the new skateboard facilities at City Park.

12 Miles of Road Improvements in Harrisonville

Last month, the Harrisonville Board of Aldermen voted down an ordinance that would have backed bonds for the Harrisonville Marketplace Redevelopment Plan. This month they changed course and approved the plan.

Fire at Harrisonville High School

A fire in a janitor’s closet ended school early for Harrisonville High School students on Friday (9/18).

Around 8:45 a.m. the fire alarms went off and local emergency personnel promptly responded. The fire was contained to the closet, but 8 rooms suffered smoke damage.

Harrisonville sets levy, says no to bonds

After meeting for 2 days last week, the Harrisonville Board of Alderman said no to bonds for the financing of the Harrisonville Market Place (HMP) Redevelopment Project. The HMP is a 41 million dollar development at the intersection of 2 Highway and Commercial Street that includes Price Chopper, CVS, Burger King and Phillips 66 (this district has already self-imposed a 1% sales tax).
