A new pumper is part of equipment being requested by the Pleasant Hill Fire District in a $4.5 million bond issue on the ballot in August, but the need for a new fire truck was so urgent that the fire board agreed to purchase it early under a lease-purchase agreement.

A fire in a janitor’s closet ended school early for Harrisonville High School students on Friday (9/18).
Around 8:45 a.m. the fire alarms went off and local emergency personnel promptly responded. The fire was contained to the closet, but 8 rooms suffered smoke damage.

The West Peculiar Fire Department was responding to an overturned vehicle Wednesday evening, when a semi-trailer ran into a fire truck at full speed.
