Results of August Saturation Patrols

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released a report on the results of the Troop A saturation patrols for the month of August:
From the news release:
“On August 28, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Cass County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, three people were arrested on felony warrants, one person was arrested on a felony other arrest, 11 people were arrested on misdemeanor criminal offenses, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession, and 15 citations were issued. In addition, 38 warnings were issued.”
Saturation patrols occur by concentrating officers in a small geographic location, in the hopes of deterring crime by creating a perceived omnipresence in the area.
On a side note, Highway Patrol has arrested 5 people in Cass County in the last 5 days.
