71 NB Traffic to Switch over Saturday

BELTON, Mo. - Northbound Route 71 traffic will be switched to the new bridge over 163rd Street early Saturday, which will close ramps connecting 163rd Street to northbound Route 71.
The ramps will be closed until later this fall to allow the contractor, Ideker Construction Co., to reconstruct the ramps, and also lower and reconstruct 163rd Street beneath Route 71.
Northbound Route 71 will be narrowed to one lane for a few hours beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, to allow crews to move concrete barrier and stripe pavement for the transition to the new bridge. Once striping is complete, both northbound lanes will shift to the new bridge and the northbound ramps at 163rd will close. The changes will also close 163rd Street at the East Outer Road until later this fall.
