South Madison Street - Lucy Webb Road to Hubach Hill Road in Raymore

The S. Madison Reconstruction Project between Lucy Webb and Hubach Hill Road has begun.  The project is planned in four (4) phases – with each phase closing a particular section of S. Madison.

Phase 1:  Construction of a new entrance to Recreation Park.  The new entrance will be immediately north of the current park entrance and involves the construction of a roundabout.  Access to the park will ONLY be from the south during this phase.  The posted detour will be Hwy J to Hubach Hill Road to S. Madison.  Work on this phase will take several months.

Phase 2 – 4:  More detail about these phases will be posted in the near future.  As the project gets underway, details about road closures and project schedule will be posted.

Highlights of the project:
• A roundabout will be constructed at the entrance to Recreation Park – this will provide a grassy median for future landscaping to highlight the entrance to our park.  The roundabout also functions as a traffic calming device along S. Madison.
• The section of road between Lucy Webb and Magnolia will be curbed.
• Storm water improvements will help reduce the peak flows and provide grass-lined swales to reduce the amount of containments that flow into the streams.
• There will be a 10’walking trail along the west side between Lucy Webb and the roundabout.

The contractor for this Project is Miles Excavating.  Project is being funded by a General Obligation Bond Issue approved by voters in April 2007.

HERE is a map of the detour.
