For the first time this season Cass County is under a heat advisory. With heat indices being between 105 - 110 degrees the Cass County Health Department would like to remind everyone that anyone can suffer heat illness or death, but there are some members of our community at higher risk.

The process utilizes cellulosic silage converting it to gas, using the gas to generate electricity, leveraging and improving upon processes that have been successfully used in Germany for the past 15 years where more than 4,000 similar facilities exist today.

City Administrator Keith Moody Wednesday received word that the City has been awarded a $3,000,000 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant to fund improvements to its waste water treatment plant and another $4,300,000 in low interest loans to complete the project.
