Harrisonville man shot in standoff

Yesterday a 50-year old man was shot by a Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy after they responded to a call of domestic disturbance with shots fired at a house in the 30000 block of South Lone Tree around 11:30am.
The man allegedly barricaded himself inside a bedroom and fired 1 shot through the door before running out of the house. After a deputy caught up with the man, the suspect allegedly threatened the officer with a gun so the deputy opened fire, hitting the suspect with 1 bullet.
The man was flown to an area hospital and was in critical condition.
The deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave while the shooting is being reviewed, said Cpl. Kevin Tieman with the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
Neighbors said the man lives at the home with a wife and 4 teenage children.
