Three Harrisonville residents were appointed to serve on the Park Board and another was selected to fill a vacancy on the Industrial Development Authority during Monday night’s Board of Aldermen meeting.
David Atkinson, Leroy Graham and Catherine Faris were each approved to serve a three-year term on the Park Board ending in 2012 while Vanessa Zaroor was confirmed to fill an unexpired vacancy on the city’s Industrial Development Authority. Her term will end in 2014.
The Park Board is a nine-member group which oversees all aspects of the Harrisonville Parks and Recreation system and the Community Center. Members serve three-year terms.
The Industrial Development Authority is charged with issuing industrial revenue or development bonds on behalf of the city. The five members of the board serve six-year terms.
Every Harrisonville citizen is encouraged to apply to serve on one of the city’s seven volunteer boards and commissions. Brochures and applications are available in the lobby of City Hall or can be downloaded from the city’s website at http://ci.harrisonville.mo.us
