Public Meeting to be held April 21

Two public meetings will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 to discuss proposed improvements at the Harrisonville Wastewater Treatment Plant and to receive the comments and views of interested citizens. Both meetings will be held at the Harrisonville Community Center and will run consecutively.

Higher sales tax in some parts of town

If you’ve noticed that you seem to pay a bit more in sales tax at the new Price Chopper in Harrisonville then you aren’t alone. Many cities all over the country have special “districts” that self-impose an extra sales tax. Little is mentioned of these taxes in typical media outlets, so the consumers generally aren’t aware of the practice.

A veteran Raymore police officer in his 15th year on the force resigned last week after being cited March 13 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on Kentucky Road just north of M-58 Highway.
